STAG - Research
The STAG project is a research-driven design intervention that explores the intersection of portability, domesticity, and public space. Born from the observation of Hong Kong’s dense urban fabric, STAG is a multifunctional object (a stool - backpack) designed to be carried, sat upon, and transformed. It serves as a tool for "tactical urbanism," allowing users to reclaim and inhabit any corner of the city as a personal public space. The research investigates how a singular, frugal object can mediate between the body and the infrastructural scale, facilitating spontaneous social interaction.
